Our Families
Our families are located in and around Southgate, a residential suburban area of north London, located around 8 miles (12.9 km) north of Charing Cross. Southgate was originally the South Gate of Enfield Chase, the King's hunting grounds.
Within the area is the art deco Grade II listed building, Southgate tube station designed by Charles Holden. The surrounding roads have a variety of shops and restaurants. The area has several large green parks such as Grovelands Park which covers ninety-two acres and contains a former boating lake, dense woods and bracken. On Waterfall Road is Christ Church, built in 1862 by Sir Gilbert Scott. There stands the Minchenden Oak, said to be the largest oak tree in England and rumoured to be 800 years old.
Southgate has connections with many people in the arts and showbusiness. The Turner Prize-winning artist Rachel Whitehead was a student at Southgate School. Singers Rachel Stevens from S Club 7 and Amy Winehouse were both born in Southgate.

Our Students
Our students come from a number of different countries and cultures to experience the many wonderful things our country has to offer. Your typical day may consist of attending English lessons at a language school in the mornings followed by visits to places of interest in the afternoons.
Some evenings will be spent with your family having dinner, chatting, learning and experiencing life in England. Other evenings are for enjoying London's vibrant night life whether eating out or going to the theatre to see one of the many musicals or plays on stage in London's West End.
Weekend visits to other places in England are a must. Whether to the famous cities of Oxford or Cambridge, the historical city of Bath or even a trip to Scotland! You will normally be able to book organised trips through your college at very good prices.
